Co-Occurring Disorders and Substance Abuse Treatment in West Caldwell, NJ

Addiction and substance use disorders are often accompanied by a set of physical and mental health issues. Sometimes people turn to drugs or alcohol to try and self-medicate undiagnosed or untreated mental health issues. In other cases, specific conditions develop as a consequence of drug or alcohol use, or as a consequence of the lifestyle of an addict.

These  "co-occurring disorders" are very common. In the mental or behavioral health fields, it is known as "dual-diagnosis".

Whether you are "dual diagnosis" or you suffer co-occurring disorders with addiction, the outpatient treatment programs at The Counseling Center will develop a customized, individual treatment plan just for you.

Our counselors and staff are well trained to assist clients with complex conditions all across the spectrum of dual-diagnosis. All outpatient treatment is assigned after an initial Clinical Assessment, which is an essential tool for understanding current status, including the need to recognize and treat a dual diagnosis.
